- If you are installing or upgrading to BIND 9, you will need install the /kernel/drv/random patch (patch #112438) before installing or upgrading Meta IP on SUN Solaris platforms.
- Meta IP v5.7 includes all fixes released in Meta IP v5.6.1 Hotfix 1, Meta IP v5.6.1, Meta IP v5.6, Meta IP v5.5 Hotfix 2, Meta IP v5.5 Hotfix 1.
- Meta IP v5.7 is not backward-compatible with older versions of Meta IP. Changes have been made to the Manager, DHCP, and SMC services that make communication with and management of older versions prone to errors. It is highly recommended that users upgrade all managed services to the v5.7 release.
- Verify Meta IP v5.7 with your network before deploying it into a production network.
- Meta IP, Meta DNS Pro, and SAFE DNS support both BIND 9 and BIND 8.
- DNS option inheritance displayed in UI.
- Relay Agent Information Option 82 support
- The Meta IP DHCP server recognizes option 82 and extracts the circuit-id and/or remote-id data. Meta IP then uses this data to select a lease pool based on the presence of the select filter statement. Clients that match the statement receive an IP address from one of the matching lease pools.
- Vendor Sub Option template
- Vendor Sub Option Templates allow you to create nested data types in a single option (for example DHCP option 43 or 60) at the DHCP service level. Once created, you can use them with Custom Options and User/Vendor classes.
